| The theme of Slumdog Millionaire is a romantic theme because of the love which starts and devolops between Jamal and Latika as the movie progesses. However, there is not only romantic love, but there is also brotherly love between Jamal and Salim. An example of the love between Jamal and Latika is shown in Jamal and Salim going to save Latika after she is taken.I can relate to the brotherly love because I love my brother and would try to help him if he feels down. |
Some of the other themes in Slumdog Millionaire are perserverence and poverty. This is about poverty because Jamal grows up in poverty and was described by the host of India's version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" as a "boy from the slums". I can relate to this as I know of 9a boy who spends all his money, borrows moneyy from others and does not pay the money back. This boy always wants money which can relate to Jamal always wanting money so he could find Latika. |
The theme perserverence is because Jamal keeps on trying to succeed, even when he has nothing. He does not give up, which is a lesson for all of us. I cna relate to this because when I make wooden swords,sometimes they do not work out the way I want them to. The good thing is that I keep trying and do not give up, even when I get angry at the tools and the wood. |
